Carson City sheriff’s arrest log: Pair jailed in Walmart security assault face more charges

A Dayton couple arrested Friday on suspicion of assaulting a Walmart security officer face additional charges after a stolen credit card was used earlier at the store, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
Ryan Morgan Beasley, 28, and Desiree Mynear, 34, were each booked Friday on felony charges after a stolen purse was recovered and a credit card was used to ring up $400 in charges at the Carson City store following a theft that happened earlier in Dayton.
According to the arrest report, a deputy was called to Walmart in the 3200 block of Market Street to investigate charges made on a stolen credit card. The officer met with the victim who advised her purse was stolen Friday from the Dollar Store in Dayton.
She said she reported the theft to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office and said while attempting to cancel one of her credit cards she was informed by her credit card company that there were two recent transactions at the Walmart. The victim went to Walmart and contacted security, according to the arrest report.
Loss prevention informed the woman that two transactions were made with her card on Friday. The first was made at 1:52 p.m. for a total of $200 and the second transaction was made at 1:54 p.m. for $200, the arrest report states.
The victim said along with her credit cards she was also missing the following items: A driver’s license, black wallet, black purse, a black Nissan ignition key with a chrome emblem, a house key, and corded lanyard and a Disney frost key chain. While the victim was writing her statement, a deputy made contact with security who advised they obtained time stamped video surveillance of Beasley using the stolen credit card, the report states.
Loss prevention informed the victim that Beasley was arrested earlier in the day by Carson City sheriff’s deputies, along with Mynear, for petit larceny and battery. See the story on the arrest here.
A deputy notified the jail facility and advised of the stolen property reported by the victim. A Jail staff deputy advised while he was performing inventory of Mynear’s property he located a black Nissan ignition key with a chrome emblem, a house key, a green and pink corded lanyard, and a Disney frost key chain, the arrest report states.
The deputy responded to the detention facility and took possession of the stolen property that was identified as belonging to the victim of the purse theft.
Beasley faces a felony charge of fraudulent use of a credit card. His bail was $5,000. Mynear was charged with felony possession of stolen property. Her bail was $25,000.
