Carson City sheriff's arrest log: Woman arrested for obstructing officers dealing with suicidal subject
A 40-year-old woman from Waterloo, Iowa was arrested by Carson City Sheriff's deputies for misdemeanor obstruction Tuesday night.
According to the arrest report, deputies responded to a report of a suicidal woman armed with a steak knife in the 200 block of Jeanell Drive. The reporting party was hiding in another bedroom out of the fear of the subject.
Deputies who contacted the suicidal subject confirmed she had a knife, but was at first calm. One of the deputies tried to talk her into coming outside without the knife in her hand.
Then, according to the report, the subject's mother arrived and began yelling at deputies to allow her to enter the residence to disarm the subject. Deputies told her to wait while they tried to resolve the situation.
The mother began yelling at her daughter over the deputies' commands, which enraged the subject, who came charging at deputies with the knife in her hand. The mother was verbally abusive and physically obstructive to deputies trying to bring the subject under control. The mother was then handcuffed and taken away, as other deputies used a tazer to bring the suicidal subject under control.
The mother's bail was set at $412.
