Run Rabbit Run: Snow Day across the region
Snow around western Nevada this Thursday has tapered off to showers and is expected to further diminish through the day, according to the National Weather Service. For the rabbit in the photo above taken by Naida Rass of Silver Springs, the overnight storm brought out the wildlife for a snow day.
Even with plows running up and down streets, roads throughout the region remain snow and ice covered, especially in areas that have not been treated, so be sure to allow extra time for travel and possibly through the day as localized light snow showers are likely to continue.
All precipitation is expected to clear out of the region tonight through Friday with a very cold air mass settling over the area. The weather services advises Friday is the day to prepare for the upcoming atmospheric river event with flooding likely through many areas. Be sure to clear drains of snow and other debris and pay special attention to the latest forecast updates if you live in a flood prone location.
