Orphaned Kittens at Catmandu Need Your Help
While plowing his field on Wednesday, a local farmer came upon the body of a feral mother cat who had been literally ripped to pieces by predators. After burying the remains, he climbed back on his tractor to resume plowing. A small movement by the wheel caught his eye. Looking down, he saw two tiny kittens lying in the dirt. They were cold, hungry and frightened.
A kind-hearted soul, he scooped up the wee orphans and brought them to Catmandu Cat Adoption Center and Sanctuary for help. Volunteers immediately went to work getting them warm, fed, cleaned, and stabilized.
Approximately 3 weeks old, the kittens require feeding every 3 to 4 hours, help going potty, cleaning and grooming, and lots of one-on-one attention. Patti, a faithful volunteer at Catmandu with extensive kitten experience, offered to foster the furry babies until they are old enough to return to Catmandu for adoption. They are the third set of tiny orphans she has fostered in the last 4 months.
A 501c3 non-profit, Catmandu relies entirely on donations from the community to care for these kittens as well as the 60+ adult cats and kittens currently residing in our sanctuary while they await their forever families. If you can provide funds to help, please do: every little bit helps. If you cannot help financially, please consider donating your time as a volunteer. Even a couple of hours a week makes a difference.
All kittens and cats at Catmandu are spayed/neutered to help reduce the number of homeless kitties in Carson City.
