Public meeting for the Community Development Block Grant Carson City

November 9, 2020 - 9:00am NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Carson City will conduct a public meeting on November 9, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. (All meetings will be online, please see directions below), in order to discuss possible applications for funding under the COIVD-19, CDBG-CV, State Community Development Block Grant (CDBG-CV) Program and to solicit citizen input on possible activities to be included in the application.
These funds were not used up from the first round of CDBG-CV funding; therefore, Carson City is adverting the remaining funds that were not utilized in the initial allocation of funding. It is estimated that approximately $70,426 is available.
ELIGIBLE ACTIVITIES PAID FOR WITH THE STATE CDBG-CV FUNDS MUST MEET ONE OR MORE OF THE THREE NATIONAL OBJECTIVES LISTED IN CDBG FEDERAL STATUTES AS FOLLOWS: BENEFIT TO LOW INCOME HOUSEHOLDS OR PERSONS; ELIMINATION OF SLUMS AND BLIGHT; OR MEETING URGENT COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT NEED.
The purpose of this public meeting is to provide information about the CDBG-CV program, how to apply, eligibility requirements, how and where funds can be used, and to give citizens an opportunity to make their comments known regarding what types of eligible activities the City of Carson City should apply for under the State CDBG-CV program. A second public hearing will be held to discuss proposed projects submitted. A final hearing will be held at the Carson City Board of Supervisors meeting for the possible approval of the Application Review Workgroup funding recommendations.
