AAUW Capital Branch kicking off 2013-14 program year with Brunch
The Capital Branch of American Association of University Women (AAUW) is kicking off the 2013-14 program year with a brunch providing an opportunity for members, prospective members and guests to learn about the exciting programs which will be highlighted over the next 9 months.
The Capital Branch of AAUW Nevada meets in Carson City, the state capital, and serves Carson City, and Douglas and Lyon counties.
"The Capital Branch is one of nearly 1,000 AAUW Branches across the United States," said Jane Johnson, President. "We are truly excited about the upcoming programs on Immigration Reform, Health Care for Women and Children as well as The Invisible War which discusses the treatment of women in the Military."
The brunch will also feature personal reflections of their AAUW experiences from Jane Johnson, current chapter President; Flo Bedrosian, Past Nevada State and chapter President; Linda Hiebert-Sekiguchi, past chapter president and Caroline Punches, Membership Vice-President.
AAUW advances equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, and research. Membership is open to anyone holding an associate or equivalent, baccalaureate, or higher degree from a regionally accredited college or university. Individuals who have received honorary degrees from qualified institutions are also eligible for membership.
