Pence loves elevation, Panik and Adrianza do well in rehab loss to Aces
Hunter Pence continued his AAA assault last night in Reno by hitting his second home run in as many nights at once again a Giants' friendly Greater Nevada Field.
I think he loves the thin air and elevation.
Pence came into the game batting a modest .500 (8 for 16) and added 2 more RBI to his total since being on his rehab assignment giving him 6 in 6 games. It was his third home run since being with Sacramento.
Pence played a full nine innings for a second straight night which have a lot of people believing his return to San Francisco is extremely close.
Joe Panik had a good night at the plate going 2 for 4 with a couple of singles for Sacramento, and played his scheduled eight innings. Bruce Bochy believes his return to the orange and black could be Saturday.
Ehire Adrianza also continued his rehab stint. Coming into the game batting a cool .429 he added a double and a run scored.
I spoke with Reno Aces manager Phil Nevin before the game and asked him what he thought about facing the San Fran...errrr...Sacramento River Cats star-studded lineup this weekend.
"Yeah, I actually sent a text to my good buddy 'Boch' (Bruce Bochy), and I said:
"Hey man, I thought you were my friend, I thought we were close. So, why don't you just scratch Bumgarner today and send him down here to pitch."
Well, Phil could rest a little easier by the end of the night as his Aces won 7-3 behind a big night from an unlikely source. Dan Rohlifing who hit eighth in Reno's lineup last night and came in with zero home runs on the year hit two last night and added 4 RBI to his total.
