Over the Hill Motorcycle Club Donates $500 to Food Pantry in Silver Springs
SILVER SPRINGS, Nev. — For the third year in a row, the Over the Hill Motorcycle Club has made a donation to the Silver Stage Food Pantry.
This year's donation, which Pantry manager Kathy McIntosh says that "they made with the needs of local homebound senior citizens in mind", totaled $500.
Club members Bill Evans, Bob Clark, Randy LeBelloe, and Charles Moore presented Kathy McIntosh, manager of the Pantry, with a check for the nonprofit on June 16th, 2017.
Healthy Communities Coalition of Lyon and Storey describes their Silver Stage Food Pantry as "a one-stop shop for food security and social connections, with friendly referrals to local services, community resources, and volunteer and job training opportunities, plus an on-site community garden and hoop house and a year-round indoor farmers market, the Jackrabbit Junction."
The "volunteer-powered" Pantry is open Monday – Friday 10:00am – 4:00pm and located on the corner of Ramsey Weeks and Spruce Avenue near the schools and public library. Volunteers of all ages are welcomed. Call (775) 577-9161 for more details.
