Wilderness advocate to be Carson City Dems luncheon speaker
Shaaron Netherton, Friends of Nevada Wilderness Executive Director, will be the featured speaker at the Carson City Democratic luncheon on Monday, June 25.
Serving since July 2000, she and her staff have achieved a string of wilderness legislative successes leading to the protection of over 3 million acres of Nevada wilderness and the establishment of a nationally recognized Wilderness Stewardship Program. Her luncheon presentation will focus on recent proposals to open many of Nevada's wilderness study areas up to commercial exploitation.
This event is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. on June 25th at Carson City's Round Table Pizza, near Starbucks in the Walmart retail complex, just off of College Parkway. All-you-can-eat buffet lunch available. All are welcome.
Sponsored by the Democratic Men's Committee, these fundraisers help defer expenses at Carson City's Democratic headquarters while affording the community an opportunity to engage with candidates, office holders, subject matter experts and public policy advocates in an unstructured, open-ended and informal atmosphere.
Donations of $5 or more gratefully accepted but are not required. For further information contact Rich Dunn at 434-8783 or richdunn@aol.com.
