Reader Mail: The Ongoing City Center Circus--We Need A Binding Not An Advisory Vote
The City Center 'advisory' vote being floated by our city's elected officials assumes one very important fact: the Supervisors don't revoke or materially modify the ordinance they might adopt in June or July some time before the November election.
Our government officials seem tone-deaf to the overwhelming desire of Carson City to vote on City Center. . .and have that vote reign in our city officials' excessive tendencies. That desire to vote has been expressed through the unprecedented public outpouring for the citizens' petition. The November ballot measure(s) need to be binding, not advisory, in order to put this issue to rest after over four years of dithering.
