Watershed Wednesdays Forum update: March 10 discussion focuses on recreation
CARSON CITY — The Carson River Coalition’s virtual Watershed Wednesdays Forum, continues this week on March 10 with a session highlighting recreation in our region. Participants will find 2-1/2 hours of dynamic presentations from 8 speakers championing recreation in the Carson River Watershed.
Tune in Wednesday morning to the Carson Water Subconservancy District YouTube Chanel to learn about trail projects, discover new areas to explore outdoors, and unpack some newfound complications of recreating during a global pandemic.
Then join presenters at 11:30 a.m. on a Live Zoom Q&A to ask questions and hear discussion from the expert panelists. Register for Watershed Wednesdays by visiting www.cwsd.org and following instructions to sign up at no cost! Links to the YouTube premiere and the live Zoom call will be forwarded to all registered participants.
New this year, CWSD has its own app to follow the CRC Watershed Wednesdays Forum! The app will display all forum content with real-time updates, which enables users to stay current throughout the month-long event. This user-friendly platform allows participants to browse each Wednesday’s agenda, read speaker biographies, and access links to presentations and discussions directly from their smartphone or other device.
The app works in your favorite web browser or any smart phone and can be downloaded via a link sent to you after you register. Then you will just click the link on the device you want to use, and it works!
Continuing Education units are available for attending Watershed Wednesdays for Water Operators, Professional Engineers, American Institute of Certified Planners & Certified Floodplain Managers. To receive credit, you must register for the forum, watch the presentations, and be present for the entire virtual Q&A discussion. Requirements may vary depending on the educational credit. Please contact Katie Smith at Watershedtech@cwsd.org for additional information.
Throughout the month, Watershed Wednesdays’ diverse selection of themes will offer something for everyone interested in resource management, watershed health, and conservation. CWSD extends an invitation to all members of our region with the hope of building a community committed to acting to better our watershed.
