Wild Horse Children’s Theater announces auditions for young singers, dancers, and actors (ages 8-18), for the Northern Nevada premiere of “Oliver, JR”. Based on Charles Dickens’ novel, Oliver Twist, this musical won the Tony and Olivier Awards, and is one of the few musicals to win an Academy Award for Best Picture! It is widely hailed as a true theatrical masterpiece by actors and audience members alike.

What is now referred to as the “Great Earthquake and Fire of San Francisco” would prove to be salvation for Eliza and her husband Jacob. Last time Dirty Cello played at Piper’s Opera House in Virginia City, they entertained the large and excited crowd with the band’s energetic renditions of everything from Dolly Parton to the Rolling Stones. When they return on August 27, the band will come with more songs all done in their high energy style, led by cellist Rebecca Roudman.

The survey requests input from the public about the availability of opportunities to be physically, mentally, socially, and economically healthy.

As the new school year quickly approaches, Greater Nevada Credit Union has launched the Greater School Supplies Drive to support Nevada students, teachers and schools by gathering the supplies needed for a successful academic year.

Many students lack the necessary supplies to succeed in the classroom, and teachers often use personal funds to purchase them. The average K-12 teacher spends an average of $750 of their own money to supplement their classroom’s supplies, without reimbursement.

Sierra Junior Tennis Association is pleased to announce that 32 junior tennis players will compete in the first Sierra Junior Tennis Association (SJTA) tournament hosted at Carson High School today, Saturday, July 30.

The tournament is a fundraiser for Carson High School’s Boys and Girls Tennis Teams whose season starts in August.
