Free Carson City community clothing exchange happening this Friday and Saturday
The Carson City Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is hosting its 15th annual Community Clothing Exchange on Friday and Saturday, August 5-6, 2022. The exchange is open to the public and located at the church at 411 N. Saliman Road in Carson City, just south of Carson High School.
The Clothing Drive will take place on Friday, August 5, 2022 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Donations of clean, gently used clothing are greatly appreciated (please no undergarments). Volunteers willing to help sort the donations are also welcome on Friday afternoon.
The Clothing Giveaway will be on Saturday, August 6, 2022 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Volunteers in the Relief Society, the philanthropic and educational women’s organization of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, are grateful for the opportunity to provide this service to the community.
Stake Relief Society President Rebecka Croxall says, "We recognize the difficulties families are facing with the rising cost of living and are hopeful that members in our community will find clothing for their entire family."
As in prior years, Croxall anticipates there will be clothing for all ages and sizes. All clothing items are free.
Members of the Carson City Stake Relief Society have hosted this event for 15 years, only missing 2020 because of the pandemic.
