Interpretive Hike at Carson Pass, Old Man and the Mountain

Retired USFS Ranger and published author Frank Tortorich leads this hike by asking “Do you see what you are looking at?” and urges people to see glaciation and more in the forest they think they know. A meander over a couple of miles, pausing to appreciate the many hidden treasures of the forest. All participants will leave with knowledge of the forest! This event is 1-2 hours to Frog Lake. Carson City fireworks show back on; rescheduled for this Saturday night at Mills Park

The 2022 Carson City Independence Day fireworks show hosted by RSVP, also known as Nevada Rural Counties Retired & Senior Volunteer Program, is happening Monday evening in Mills Park, with fireworks to begin around 9:30 p.m. Those watching are encouraged to tune into radio station Wild 102.9 FM for synchronized music accompanying the display.
