Jobs for America’s Graduates, also known as JAG, is a program across the country that teaches life skills to high school students, so that they can be prepared for the work force after graduation. However, Carson City’s own Pioneer High School’s JAG instructor, Chyanne Corley, has taken that idea farther. She teaches her students not only to be prepared for the work force, but to become confident, well rounded adults.

He will speak in support of Question 1, the Marsy's Law Crime Victims Rights Amendment, which is on the November ballot as a legislatively-referred constitutional amendment. A "yes" vote supports the addition of specific crime victim rights, together known as a Marsy's Law, to the Nevada Constitution.

MINDEN — The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a person of interest who may be involved in abandoning an animal at the Douglas County Animal Shelter in Gardnerville.

CARSON CITY — The Nevada Department of Education on Wednesday announced the signing of an emergency regulation, providing guidance to schools on how to meet new background check requirements for volunteers until a permanent regulation is adopted later this year by the Legislative Commission. Sunridge Golf and Recreations is experiencing a major uptick in play and membership since last year, defying a national trend showing a die-off of the sport.

Golf play at Sunridge Golf and Recreations, a more than 20-year-old golf course in Carson City, is up more than thirty percent since June of last year.

“The improvements we have made have been critical,” said General Manager Ken Stotts. “I think our players and community really feel heard and word has gotten out that we are investing in the course and want to make sure we see it to its full potential.”
