Sunday school begins for Pre K through grade 12 on Sunday, Sept. 11, at the First United Methodist Church in Carson City.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Carson City will conduct a public discussion on September 29, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. (all meetings will be online, please see directions below) in order to discuss potential applications for funding under the next fiscal year’s (July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2024) State Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program and to solicit additional citizen input on possible activities to be included in an application. It is estimated that approximately $400,000 will be available in total.

The Salvation Army in Carson City has long run before- and after-school programs for local children. However, a staffing shortage has put them in jeopardy. According to The Salvation Army’s Captain Holly Beeson, six people are needed to keep the programs going.

MINDEN — On August 28, the team at Carson Valley Veterinary Hospital will host a ceremony to celebrate the start of construction on their new state-of-the-art facility, just a few miles from their current location. Having spent over 30 years in their current building, the staff anticipate opening their new doors sometime in 2023.

Third Quarter Dinner of 2022 is Coming! The Carson City Council of the United States Navy League will hold our third meeting of the year on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at the Gold Dust West Hotel and Casino, Carson City. The Social hour will start at 5:30 PM and Dinner will begin at 6:15PM.

CARSON CITY — The Nevada Governor’s Office of Energy is pleased to announce the appointment of Denise Frohlich as deputy director.
