Douglas County Manager’s Office takes over supervision of China Spring Youth Camp

This ordinance will be effective February 1, 2024.

Crash blocking traffic at College Parkway and Lompa Lane

Traffic is currently blocked. Injuries are unknown.
Motorists should seek alternative routes.
First responders are en route to the scene.

Nevada State Police Highway Patrol investigating fatal Mound House crash involving juvenile
Submitted by Kelsey Penrose on Fri, 01/26/2024 - 6:08pmOn January 23, 2024, at approximately 7:30 p.m., the Nevada State Police responded to a crash at the location of Eastbound US50 near Highlands Drive (Mile Marker 1) in Lyon County, Nevada.
The preliminary investigation indicates that a 2000 Ford F-350 was traveling eastbound on US50 approaching Highlands Drive.
Carson City Deputies Make Arrest in Stabbing and Assault with a Firearm Case
Submitted by admin on Fri, 01/26/2024 - 6:03pmOn January 24th, 2024, at about 2100 hours, Deputies responded to the 3400 block of Airport Road where a person had been stabbed. The caller reported the suspect had fled the area after stabbing the victim and pointing a firearm at him.
Carson City's Miller Counseling and Wellness Center offering free Grief Support Groups Wednesdays
Submitted by Kelsey Penrose on Fri, 01/26/2024 - 5:11pmMiller Counseling is partnering with Douglas Center for Hope and Healing to offer grief support groups to Carson City and the surrounding rural communities Wednesdays from 7 to 8 p.m.
The Miller Counseling and Wellness Center is located at 104 W. Telegraph St. in Carson City.
The Center for Hope and Healing has been providing grief support to Douglas County for the last 10 years. The goal of building this partnership is to make the free support groups available and easier to access to more members of the Northern Nevada community.
