In a typical year, Nevada Humane Society would hold a big spring fundraising gala. With the COVID-19 pandemic still impacting in-person events, NHS will instead hold a month-long virtual fundraising campaign, Paws for a Cause, in May.

CARSON CITY — The Stewart Indian School Cultural Center & Museum announces a new exhibit in the Great Basin Native Artists Gallery. Contemporary Indigenous artists from Nevada’s Northern and Southern Paiute, Western Shoshone, and Washoe tribal nations exhibit an exceptional collection of beadworks, from beaded goblets to cradleboards. This exhibition will be on display through Oct. 23, 2021.
Carson City deputies make weekend arrests for drug possession, domestic battery and other offenses

Two were arrested Sunday for suspicion of felony drug possession and other offenses, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
