Carson City Kiwanis’ food drive supporting Food for Thought, Inc.
Carson City Kiwanis hosts a food drive for local non-profit Food for Thought, Inc. Food for Thought, Inc. provides food for chronically hungry children in our community. Each week, Food for Thought, Inc. discreetly provides a nutritious bag of food to children for the weekend in 16 local schools.
The food drive starts on Monday, May 3, 2021 and will last until Friday, May 14, 2021. All donated food will be delivered to Food for Thought, Inc. on Monday, May 17, 2021.
Food items must not be expired. Items must also be individual serving size and shelf stable. Suggested donations are:
- 2.05 oz. Kraft Easy Mac and Cheese Cups
- 7.5 oz. microwaveable cups of Chef Boyardee Beef Raviolis, Spaghetti O’s, Spaghetti & Meatballs, or Beefaroni
- 4 oz. cups of Dole fruit cups or Libby’s veggie cups
- individually wrapped crackers, snacks, trail mix, beef jerky, granola bars
- individual cereal boxes or cups, oatmeal packets, or juice boxes.
Carson City Kiwanis coordinated three drop off locations. The locations are:
1. American Family Insurance - 808 College Pkwy, Ste 106, Carson City, NV, 89706
2. Waddell & Reed - 755 N. Roop St, Ste 114, Carson City, NV 89701
3. Bristlecone Family Eye Care - 444 S. Division St, Carson City, NV 89703
Carson City Kiwanis' mission is to support local causes serving children, adolescent, elderly and disabled.
