Carson City, Quad County COVID briefing: Walk-in vaccination clinic Thursday in Gardnerville

Carson City Health and Human Services is reporting 14 new cases and 23 additional recoveries of COVID-19 Wednesday, April 28, 2021 in the Quad County region. This brings the total number of cases to 12,443, with 11,808 recoveries and 225 deaths; 410 cases remain active.
Capitol turns 150; Nevada State Museum to mint special medallion in Carson City

The Nevada State Museum, Carson City, will activate historical Coin Press No. 1 from 1 to 7 p.m. May 18 to mint a special medallion commemorating the state Capitol building. Opened in 1871, the Nevada Capitol building celebrates its 150th anniversary this year. The special medallion is modeled after one of the earliest images of the Capitol, and features a banner with the state motto, “All for Our Country.”
Visiting to resume Saturday for Nevada Department of Corrections

Empire Elementary Receives Operation Helping Heroes Donation from Country Financial

Country Financial representative Sean Marler recently presented Empire Elementary with a 2021 Operation Helping Heroes award. Marler presented a donation $1,500 to the school which will be used by teachers to purchase incentive supplies for students.
