Douglas County announces Topaz Lake Campground to open June 1

In response to Governor Sisolak’s announcement of our entering Phase Two of COVID- 19 Recovery, Douglas County Community Services is pleased to announce the reopening of Topaz Lake Campground effective June 1, 2020.

Carson City deputies make warrant arrest after report of man throwing orange cones across Carson Street

A 37-year-old transient man was arrested in the 1000 block of S. Carson Street for two felony Priority 5 Probation Violation warrants, issued out of Carson City and Lyon County District Court.

According to the report, Bryant Bennett Jayne was arrested after deputies were dispatched to a local motel on a report of a man throwing orange road cones across South Carson Street and yelling at the reporting party.

Quad-County COVID-19 Update: Five New Cases and Four Recoveries brings totals to 187

(Carson City, NV)- Carson City Health and Human Services (CCHHS) is reporting five new positive cases and four additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. This brings the total number of cases to 187 with 138 recoveries and five deaths, 44 cases remain active.

Vehicle vs motorcycle accident reported Near Woodside and Fairview

A vehicle vs motorcycle accident was reported just after 6:30 p.m. near Woodside and Fairview Friday afternoon.

The motorcyclist was reported to be conscious and walking around but was “hit pretty hard” according to those on scene.

First responders are enroute.

Carson City’s Elks Honor Fallen Soldiers on Memorial Day

On May 22nd members of Carson City Elks Lodge #2177 placed 30 flags on service members’ memorials at Lone Mt. Cemetery in Carson City.

Traffic accident with injuries reported at Northridge and Roop

According to dispatch a traffic accident occurred on Northridge and Roop just before 4:30 p.m. on Friday afternoon.

A bicyclist was hit but was able to get up and walk away from the scene.

First responders are enroute now.

Motorists should seek alternate routes.

Carson City Parks and Recreation announces tentative reopening plans of Pool, MAC, and more under Phase 2

The Carson City Parks and Recreation Department announced it is planning on reopening certain recreational facilities under Phase 2, with tentative dates announced for the beginning of June. These dates are all tentative, and may change as additional information becomes available.
