Sunday Quad area COVID-19 report: Male Carson City youth among 4 new cases
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Sun, 05/31/2020 - 6:05pmCarson City Health and Human Services is reporting Sunday, May 31 that there are four new positive cases and no additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. This brings the total number of cases to 193 with 139 recoveries and five deaths, 49 cases remain active.
South Carson Street Project report for week of June 1-5; roundabout install begins

Stewart Street in Carson City will be closed to southbound traffic with detours at Little to Roop to Fairview, the closure will remain all week. Stewart Street will be open to northbound traffic only.

Quad-County first come, first served COVID-19 community-based asymptomatic testing begins Tuesday

No appointment or pre-registration is required, testing is first come first serve. Community-based testing is being done in support of the State’s request to increase COVID-19 testing.

Carson City Sheriff Furlong: 'We are fully prepared to protect our town' in regards to protests

It turns out several of them are playing Pokemon Go, according to a CCSO deputy. A few demonstrators were spotted near the capitol as well. A Carson City Sheriff's Office sergeant noted they were friendly and even asked CCSO to join them, which they respectfully declined.

UPDATE 7:38AM SUNDAY: Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong reports there were no incidents of vandalism overnight in Carson City. He said the city was staffed and well prepared and noted some officers were sent to assist Reno police there.

U.S. Highway 95 earthquake repairs near Tonopah to close roadway June 3-17

(This stretch of highway averages about 2,300 vehicles daily).
