The 2019 Spelling Bee is underway, and Carson City will be sending four young people to the Nevada State Bee which will be held in Las Vegas on March 9.

Our Local Bee was held January 30 at Bethlehem Lutheran School. Representing Carson City will be 5th grader Noel White from Bethlehem Lutheran School, 6th grader Samantha Badger from Carson Montessori, 7th grader Emily Phillips from St. Teresa of Avila and 8th grader Hayden Steyn from Bethlehem Lutheran School.

Samantha and Hayden are repeat winners from last year and look forward to advancing further in the bee this year.
