A 25-year-old Carson City man was arrested Wednesday for a felony warrant alleging uttering a forged instrument, and six misdemeanors, a sheriff’s deputy said.

Casinos in Carson City and Carson Valley experienced a mild gaming profit bump in December of 1.55 percent over the same time frame in 2017, according to figures released Thursday by the Nevada Gaming Control Board.

A 26-year-old man faces attempted murder and other charges after a stabbing that happened Wednesday at a Stagecoach residence, according to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office.
Spelling Bee Winners!

January 30, 2019 - 4:00pm The 2019 Spelling Bee is underway, and Carson City will be sending four young people to the Nevada State Bee which will be held in Las Vegas on March 9.
Our Local Bee was held January 30 at Bethlehem Lutheran School. Representing Carson City will be 5th grader Noel White from Bethlehem Lutheran School, 6th grader Samantha Badger from Carson Montessori, 7th grader Emily Phillips from St. Teresa of Avila and 8th grader Hayden Steyn from Bethlehem Lutheran School.
Samantha and Hayden are repeat winners from last year and look forward to advancing further in the bee this year.

Your mortgage loan interest, property taxes, and maintenance expenses are all allowable deductions. Your accountant may find other deductions for you as well, such as a 27-year depreciation rule.
