New director joins Carson City's Children's Museum of Northern Nevada

The Children's Museum of Northern Nevada in Carson City recently appointed Benjamin Korn as its new Executive Director.
"We were delighted to extend an offer to Mr. Korn because he had extensive fundraising experience as well as an MA in Non Profit Arts Management" says Casey Gilles, Board President. "The museum's Board of Directors felt these two attributes made him an ideal candidate that would chart a new course for the museum involving increased resource development, enhanced constituent engagement, and a focus on revising the museum's collection."
The Nature Conservancy Introduces New River Fork Ranch Preserve Manager

“I’ve been working for The Nature Conservancy as a Restoration Technician at the McCarran Ranch Preserve on the Truckee River for nearly four years,” explains Leonard. “Now, I’m really looking forward to bringing my conservation skills and background to the beautiful Carson Valley. I’m excited to engage with community members to make the most of this incredible preserve and to build on the success that TNC and partners have had here over nearly two decades.”

Carson High School students take Western Nevada College career and tech tour

A group of Carson High School students tour the Career and Technical Education programs at Western Nevada College, in Carson City, Nev., on Monday, Jan. 28. The students learned about the welding, automotive, machine tool technology, advanced manufacturing, construction and computer information technology degrees and certifications.
Chinese New Year Celebration

February 9, 2019 - 11:00am The Children's Museum of Northern Nevada in Carson City will once again partner with the Nevada State Museum to offer a celebration of Chinese New Year on Feb. 9t, 2019 from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Festivities will begin with a music and dance performance at the Nevada State Museum at 10 AM followed by a lion dance parade up North Carson Street before concluding at the Children’s Museum at 11 AM where there will be crafts, music, and play. The event is free for members. Daily admission will apply for all non-member guests.

Squeeze In will be partnering with the Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada for the opening of a tenth location.
