You’ll find annual events like Civil War Days in Virginia City and the Best in the West Rib Cook-off in Sparks, in addition to smaller happenings like the monthly Downtown Carson City Wine Walk and a roller derby double-header. If you haven’t made plans to head for the hills, take a look at your options and have a fun and safe Labor Day weekend.

Bad History and Coincidence

Both lectures are free to the public and begin at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 7 p.m.
His “Bad History” presentation will focus on “factual” history that has proven to be false.
Thomas’ lecture on “Coincidence” will spotlight amazing situations in science and whether they are happenstance or destined to take place.
As is the case throughout the rest of the year, Jack C. Davis Observatory is the place to be on Saturday nights.
