Grants amounting to $50,000 available for Nevada recycling projects
Submitted by editor on Wed, 08/01/2018 - 9:42amCARSON CITY — The Nevada Division of Environmental Protection’s Recycling Program has $50,000 in grant funding available for projects to increase recycling, public awareness of the importance of conserving natural resources and for the reduction, reuse and recycling of solid waste.

Justice Stiglich took the bench in January, 2017 after appointment by Gov. Sandoval, having been a 2nd Judicial District judge in Reno since December, 2012.
Smoke from regional wildfires eases some, then returns to 'unhealthy' air quality around Carson City
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Wed, 08/01/2018 - 9:24amUPDATE 11:53AM: Carson City and Gardnerville was downgraded to the "unhealthy" category on the Air Quality Index after remaining in the moderate level until around 10 a.m. The "unhealthy" category, in which Carson City was 161 and Gardnerville 162, means everyone may begin to experience health effects, members of sensitive groups may experience more serious health effects.

Carson City Supervisor Brad Bonkowski to Hold 'Breakfast with Brad' this Friday

All Carson City residents are welcome to attend. Bonkowski holds the get togethers to give residents an opportunity to get involved and be heard.

Stop by the Carson City Art Gallery this evening for a meet and greet with this month’s featured artist, wood-turner Dave Mills. He will also be demonstrating his craft.
