Carson City man arrested on Lyon County felony grand larceny warrant

A 49-year-old Carson City man was jailed on multiple misdemeanor charges, plus a felony warrant for grand larceny issued out of Lyon County. Drake Vancleave was arrested in the 1500 block of North Carson Street on Wednesday, at 8:26 p.m.

According to the arrest report, officers patrolling the area noticed a GMC Suburban driven by Vancleave didn't have a front license plate mounted in the front license plate bracket. The windshield of the GMC was also cracked.

Oh Deer: Families of bucks, does and fawns look for forage in Carson City neighborhoods

Here are some close-up photographs of mule deer found foraging for food among Carson City's west side back, front and side yards. Nevada has an estimated population of 110,000 to 112,000 mule deer, according to the Nevada Department of Wildlife.

Since early fall there have been a handful of deer colliding with cars resulting in some fatalities. When driving along dark streets, motorists are urged to look for deer crossings through neighborhood roadways and yards.

Sunday and Tuesday night DUI, saturation patrols leads to two arrests, 53 citations

Beefed up patrolling throughout Carson City on Sunday and Tuesday nights led to two arrests and 53 citations issued, reports Carson City Sheriff's Office Sgt. Scott McDaniel.

A DUI checkpoint Sunday night at Stewart and Spear streets led to one person being arrested for driving under the influence, 24 citations issued for traffic violations, and one vehicle towed, said McDaniel.

On Tuesday night a saturation patrol of William Street and Fairview Drive led to the arrest of one person on a warrant, 29 citations issued, and five vehicles towed.

Pedestrian struck by vehicle at Highway 50 and Airport Road, Care Flight ordered

A male pedestrian was stuck by a vehicle, reported at around 5:38 p.m. Wednesday night at the intersection of Highway 50 and Airport Road in Carson City. A Care Flight air ambulance was dispatched and will land at the nearby Carson City Fire Department Training Center.

Woman faces felony drug charges, allegedly brings magic mushrooms into jail during booking

A burned out license plate and tail light on a vehicle led to the arrest of a two early Wednesday morning, with a 19-year-old woman facing felony drug charges.

Officers patrolling the area stopped the vehicle near the intersection of Northridge and Roop streets shortly before midnight after seeing the violations and made contact with the driver, Shayla Marie Feber and an 18-year-old male passenger.
