November 3, 2012 - 12:00pm Come out and support our troops at our candy buy back!!! Carson City Pediatric is buying back your candy!!! 1 dollar for one pound of candy. 5 pound max per person. Come to our office located at 4530 S. Carson St. #5 Carson City Saturday November 3rd from 12P.M. to 3P.M. Give your candy to a good cause!!

Three-hour Nevada Parade kicks off at 10 a.m. along Carson Street route

Sunny skies and crisp fall temperatures are in motion for the 74th annual Nevada Day Parade, which begins at 10 a.m. down Carson Street in Carson City. The three-hour four mile-long parade features hundreds of colorful floats, high-stepping equestrian units, and spirited marching bands from throughout the state. The traditional 10 a.m. flyover of military aircraft from the Fallon Naval Air Station and Nevada Air Guard will kick-off the parade.
Officer injured, man tasered in Friday incident
Submitted by editor on Sat, 10/27/2012 - 8:44amA Carson City Sheriff's deputy suffered minor injuries to his hand after an incident near Long and Roop streets on Friday night. The incident reportedly happened when a man become out of control and aggressive with officers, who tasered the man to contain him.
The man was taken to the hospital and faces charges of public intoxication, battery on an officer and obstruction.
Man alive after reportedly shot in the head
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Sat, 10/27/2012 - 8:26amA man was reportedly found shot in the head this morning at around 8 a.m. in the area of Boyle and Oneida streets on Washoe Tribal land in Carson City.
Authorities are investigating and Washoe Tribal Police have been called to the scene. The wounded man was said to be still alive and Care Flight was responding to the intersection of Boyle and West Washoe streets, which is about two blocks away from Curry Street where Nevada Day parade floats are gathering.
