Paula Poundstone to perform in Carson City to raise money for the Library

The CCFL invited Poundstone to Carson City to celebrate National Friends of the Library Week and to help raise money for the Library.
The performance will take place on Friday, October 26 at the Bob Boldrick Theater (Community Center), located at 851 East William Street in Carson City. The doors open at 7 PM.

Within the offices of the Nevada Arts Council, OXS provides a public space for talented Nevada artists to share their work. The new exhibit is now open and runs through Nov.16. The Arts Council will sponsor an artist talk and free reception from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27 at 716 N. Carson St. Guests are welcome.

Douglas County authorities ask for help in identifying suspects
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Tue, 09/25/2012 - 5:24pmTwo commercial burglaries early Monday morning in Douglas County have authorities asking the public for help in identifying the suspects with photos provided by surveillance cameras.
The first burglary occurred at the Verizon Wireless Outlet Store on Waterloo Ln sometime around 5 am, said Douglas County Sheriff's Sgt. Jim Halsey. Entry was made by the suspect smashing the glass of the exterior window of the store. Two cellular telephones, phone chargers and miscellaneous currency were stolen from inside.
