Tuesday, July 7: Things to do in Carson City
The Nevada State Fair is coming to town at the end of the month. A limited number of parking passes are available at City Hall starting today, and discounted all-day carnival ride passes are for sale at the Visitor Center. The four days of fun start July 30. Tonight, enjoy Farewell to Arms with the Carson City Classic Cinema Club at Red’s Old 395. Learn to Line Dance at Carson Lanes, or get your swing on with lessons at El Charro’s. Check out the new karaoke night at Living the Good Life and get dinner and a show.
TUESDAY:
- One Putt Jr. Academy at Silver Oak Golf Course (7:45am sign in, 8am-10am; $40 per class or $200 for six classes: includes Green Fees, Pull Cart, Golf Clubs, Gatorade; space limited, ages 7-12)
- Carson City Parks and Recreation Easy Walk: Historical East Side Part I -Meet in front of the state capitol building (8am-9am; bring water)
- Parking Passes for the Nevada State Fair go on sale at the Carson City Treasurer’s Office in City Hall (8am-5pm; $20 for all four days; limited passes on a first come, first served basis)
- Discounted passes for the Nevada State Fair Carnival for sale at the Carson Visitor Bureau ($20 for an all-day ride pass; available until July 29; $30 at the fair)
- Industrial Art at the CCAI Gallery in the Courthouse: 885 E. Musser (8am-5pm)
- ’New Work’ by artist Pasha Rafat at the Nevada Arts Council: 716 N. Carson St. (8am-5pm)
- CCAI Exhibit: BRIC Art 5 at the BRIC: 108 E Proctor Street (8am-12pm and 1pm-5pm)
- Books and Brags at the Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada (9:30am-10:30am; included with admission)
- Summer Art Show at the Nevada Artists Association Gallery in the Brewery Arts Center (10am-4pm)

- Teapot Exhibit at the Forman-Roberts House Museum: 1207 N. Carson St (1pm-3pm; free admission)
National Father Daughter Take a Walk Day is easy to celebrate here. There is the Parks and Recreation easy walk in the morning, or the Muscle Powered Conditioning hike in the afternoon. These happen every Tuesday and the location always varies, so you get the chance to explore various trails in our valley. Get your swing on at Eagle Valley Golf Course. It’s Ladies night, so you get some instruction, a few holes, and refreshment. Kids will want to take advantage of the One Putt Jr. classes at Silver Oak Golf Course every Tuesday and Thursday.
