Wilbur (Will) Keating, of Carson City, passed away on Friday, May 24, at the age of 92.

Will was born and raised in the Black Hills of South Dakota by Bernard and Ethel (Lewis) Keating alongside four siblings: Dennis, Edwin, Bernard, and Betty. He graduated high school in Edgemont, SD, in 1950, then attended Colorado A&M University for two years before transferring to the University of Colorado.

It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of: Richard Ray Mason.

Carson City - Richard Ray Mason (85) passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 20, 2024, surrounded by his loving wife, Sharlene Mason, and his devoted family. Richard is survived by his wife, Sharlene, and their four children: Melinda (Mason) Cameron, Melaine Mason, Greg Mason, and Michon (Mason) Metzger. He also leaves behind a legacy cherished by numerous grandchildren and a great-grandchild who brought him immense joy throughout his life.

It is with extreme sadness that we share the passing of our dad, Ken Uber, also known as Mud Man & Pebble Pimp, who left us on May 29th at the age of 68. Surrounded by his loving family and friends in his final moments, he passed away holding his daughter’s hand listening to Simple Man by Lynyrd Skynyrd.

March 25, 1949 – June 25, 2024
Jeanne Stevens Denison, age 75, unexpectedly went to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 25, 2024. Jeanne was born in Fallon, Nevada to Glen and Wilma Stevens. She grew up in Carson City and graduated from Carson High School in 1967. Like her father before her, she dedicated her professional career to the State of Nevada.

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Rick Nugent on May 12, 2024. Rick was the life of the party, always quick with his "one liners", and a truly remarkable husband and friend. His presence will be sorely missed.

Please join us in celebrating Rick's life on June 15th at 1pm at 194 E. Garden Gateway. Let us come together to remember his infectious laughter and the joy he brought to our lives.

In honor of Rick, let us embrace PEACE, LOVE, and Hair Grease, just as he would have wanted.

A celebration life for Robert Trent Sullivan (12/3/44-1/12/24) will be held on Friday, June 21st at 5:30pm at the Brewery Arts Center in Carson City. All are welcome to come share stories and enjoy his favorite local jazz.

Fredrick "Rick" Cypher was born July 2, 1947 in Paterson, NJ; he passed away October 12, 2023 in Thornton, CO at age 76.

To all the people whom know this incredible Man, we will be have a Celebration of Life at Joeys Bar in Dayton, Nev., on the 17th of April. On this day what was 81 years ago this Man was born in Upstate New York. Through out his amazing life journey, he was in the Army, then became a truck driver, amongst many more things he had accomplished in his life the most important was after retirement.

To honor Rafe Harvey, the family is inviting friends, students, teachers and community members to attend a Celebration of Life Saturday, April 13 at 1 p.m. at Life Church Carson City, 1600 Snyder Ave., in Carson City.

Born on August 23, Mary Edmonson, 1938-2024, whom had a very full life, has sadly left us. At 85 years of age and being as independent like crazy, lived on her own until around December of 2023.

She leaves behind her daughter and myself and two grandchildren. She will always be in our hearts and will be missed dearly. There will be a celebration of life for my Grandma. It will be at the Autumn Funeral Home, 1575 N Lompa Ln, Carson City behind the AM/PM at 1:00 p.m. Everyone that knew and loved my Grandma is more then welcome to attend.

RENO, Nev. — Paul Leroy Abowd, 96, died March 11 at his home in Reno. A true pioneer in the culinary world and a beloved figure in our Northern Nevada community, Paul was born June 11, 1927 in Fremont Ohio. It was here he began his culinary journey working in family-run restaurants when he was young. This instilled in him a passion for food and hospitality that shaped his extraordinary career.

Peggy Sfreddo (81) passed away on February 19, 2024, in Carson City, Nevada. She was born on March 17, 1942 in New York State.

Judith Ann Elges (83) passed away on February 9, 2024, in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was born on December 29, 1940, to Jesse and Verda Maxsom and raised in Carson City, Nevada.

Judith attended Carson City schools and then attended the University of Nevada Reno and graduated in 1962 with a degree in Education. She continued her studies at the University, and graduated in 1982 with a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration. She was a member of the Tri Delta sorority where she developed life-long friendships.

Robert “Bob” Sullivan passed away on January 12, 2024, following a brief battle with cancer. Born in December, 1944 in Vineburg, California to Ralph and Merle Sullivan, Bob spent his youth in the Sacramento Valley, graduating from Dixon High School in 1962.

Joyce E. Howard, age 82, passed away on December 8, 2023 in Carson City, NV. She was born on March 7, 1941 in St. Stephen New Brunswick, Canada to Chester Earl and Thelma Elizabeth Nesbitt.

Shirley Jean Bouer Whitcome died November 12, 2023, at Carson Tahoe Hospital. She was 92 years old. Shirley was born on March 12, 1931, in Twin Falls, Idaho. Her family relocated many times during her childhood and in 1948 she graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Los Angeles. She settled in Carson City in 1951, living here for 72 years.

In Loving Memory of Ricardo Romero aka "Crazy Fox" Sept. 19, 1937 to Oct. 25, 2023. Known to many as “Crazy Fox" Ricardo Romero, an honorably discharged member of the armed forces, was a barber who mastered the profession for more than 60 years.

Judy "Yaya" Moffett, 87, was born June 1, 1936 in Sioux City, Iowa to Pete and Grace Anderson and died Oct. 7, 2023 in Carson City, Nev.

Christine Lucille (Tassi) Reed passed away unexpectedly October 12, 2023 while with her grandson and daughter.

Born June 2, 1942, in Compton, California, Christine’s family settled in Susanville. Nick-named "Sassy Tassy" she was popular amongst her peers, a cheerleader and member of many school clubs. After graduating from Lassen High School she remained in California before moving to Carson City, Nevada in 1997.

Mary Socorro Bennett born July 27, 1936 in Visalia, Calif, died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2023 in Carson City, NV. Mary was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and friend. Mary has been part of the Carson City community since the early 1960s.

Donna Lee West, 83, of Carson City, Nev., valiantly fought and decided to let go on Thursday, Oct. 5, 2023 surrounded by her family, lovingly at her side.

David (Dave) Allen Petersen, Sr. passed away on September 19, 2023 in Reno, Nevada. He was born on October 7, 1950 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Dave was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

As I sit down to write this, my heart aches with a profound sense of loss and sadness, but also with a heavy dose of resignation. After more than three decades of calling Carson City my home, my family and I have made the heart-wrenching decision to pack up and leave. It's a farewell drenched in sorrow for a place that has been the backdrop to our lives, now tarnished by a series of disappointments that have slowly chipped away at our hopes.

Joseph Edward William Lee Gibbs, 69, of Carson City, Nev. October 6th 1954 - May 24th 2023. Originally from New York State. Served in the United States Air Force during Vietnam. Settled in Carson City after working in various trades. He was an excellent cook and loved to prepare meals for his friends. In his last years he rededicated himself to the Lord.

Dale was born January 14, 1952, he passed on July 4, 2023. Dale was a good person, son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend who made a difference in a lot of people's lives. Thank you, Dale.

Our hearts are engulfed in immeasurable grief as we announce the passing of Tony, who departed this earthly realm on July 25th 2023. Cancer may have stolen him from our grasp, but it can never rob us of the profound love, joy, and inspiration he bestowed upon us during his time with us.
