Rotary Club of Carson City gears up for April's Beer and Pizza Championships
The community is welcomed to taste, judge and enjoy finely crafter beer brewed from around the region and piping hot fresh pizza tossed and baked from local restaurants. Sixteen respected craft beer brewers and microbreweries will offer their top selections to attendees as they compete for awards during the Championships.
In addition to the great beers and pies, attendees will enjoy live blues rock music from the Schall Adams Band, a silent auction and chances to win wheelbarrows of wine and beer and an historic Boston vacation that includes the Samuel Adams brewery.
The Championships are hosted by the Rotary Club of Carson City and High Sierra Brewing Company, and are the Rotary Club's major fundraising event each year. Proceeds support local scholarships, charity organizations and other Rotary-vetted community needs.
“People really enjoyed this event the last three years, and we have even more breweries coming this year. Tickets sales are pretty exciting so far,” said Anne Hansen, Rotary Club President.
The brewers attending are Alaskan, Great Basin, Lost Coast, Tonopah Brewing, Samuel Adams, Lake Tahoe, High Sierra, 2 Towns Ciderhouse, Ninkasi, Goose Island, Sierra nevada, Lagunitas, Brewers Cabinet, Stoney Head, Pigeon Head and the Brewing Lair.
Tickets are $45 each and are available from any Carson City Rotary member or by calling 315-0141.
