Carson City Aquatic Facility reopens in grand style Saturday
Perhaps the only thing better than a dip in the swimming pool is a dip in one with a refreshed, like-new look.
After more than two months of renovation, the Carson City Aquatic Facility at 841 N. Roop Street in Carson City reopened its doors to the public earlier this week.
Facility staff waited until Saturday to celebrate with the community, hosting a grand reopening party that included free swims and an dive-in movie.
Multiple projects were completed at the facility, including updates to the Olympic-sized pool and a remodel of the locker rooms.
A fresh paint job also coats the entire facility and a Carson City Parks mural has been added to the decor, too.
The facility looks is pretty much the same, but has been spruced up with fresh, crisp upgrades that give it more of a shine.
Specific pool updates include a re-plastered floor, redone tiles and repaired gutters. New tiles, faucets, renovated showers, and eventually new lockers were part of the locker room makeover.
Locker installation hasn't been completed yet, so patrons need to be aware that the locker rooms still have some work left to be done.
