Wildcats turn offense around to win twice
Kyle Conwell was happy to be reunited with his Western Nevada College baseball "family" this week. The feeling was certainly mutual on Friday afternoon when the Wildcats came together to bang out 29 hits while sweeping Colorado Northwestern Community College 11-2 and 15-1 during a Scenic West Athletic Conference doubleheader at John L. Harvey Field.
Conwell -- who had missed the Wildcats' eight previous games after his mother, Kellie Conwell, passed away on April 17 following a six-year battle with breast cancer -- homered twice during an eight-run fifth inning rally in game two and finished the day with eight RBI on five hits to spark an offensive turnaround for the Wildcats.
