A 27-year-old man was arrested Saturday for suspicion of indecent exposure in an incident that allegedly happened in front of children and customers at an East William Street store, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.

While much of the nation is stuck in an arctic freeze, we're stranded with abundant sunshine in Nevada's capital city area with temperatures well above normal for this time of year. Honoring those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces, Veteran's Day is Monday, Nov. 11 with a number of events happening around the capital city and Northern Nevada which began this week and will continue through Tuesday.

For the past five years the Carson City Classic Cinema Club has been showing the great 'Golden Age of Hollywood' films to local moviegoers as a way to promote art education in the community. The club's founder notes its acceptance thus far has been slow going but, so far, successful.

Carson City students are recognizing and honoring military men and women this week with Veteran’s Day displays and events. Veterans from all branches of military service, as well as families of students, have been encouraged to attend events Thursday, Friday and Tuesday. Campus visitors should check in at the front office at each school site.

This seminar is for women of all ages, for those who are pregnant, recently had children or had children 40 years ago. We will be discussing pelvic floor dysfunctions which can be a variety of different things.

We will also learn how to control them and start to heal our bodies. We are often told dysfunctions like leaking urine or things that just don’t feel right postpartum are normal and happen to every woman postpartum. We are then never offered solutions beyond kegels.

These dysfunctions are common but should never be perceived as normal. The pelvic floor is comprised of three layers of muscles and these are the muscles responsible for control over proper pelvic floor function, usually postpartum they just need to be retrained how to work, they are rarely damaged and unable to function properly again.

The first week of November marches along with sunshine to continue into the foreseeable future. The Nevada Commission for Women unveiled a limited edition license plate celebrating women’s suffrage as a commemoration of the 100th anniversary of women gaining the right to vote.

The plate itself is historic to Nevada, as it was the first assembly bill, Assembly Bill 499, to be backed by only women. Bills need a majority vote to pass any legislation, and this session was the first session any state in the country saw a legislature with a female-led majority.
