Nevada Artists Association Gallery Features 'Spring Has Sprung' Show

The show will run from April 2 to May 4 at the spacious, recently refurbished gallery, adjacent to the Brewery Arts Center complex.

The scheduled reception for March 3 was postponed due to Mother Nature giving us white precipitation that the region so desperately needs. Hence, we have rescheduled for March 9 from 4-7 p.m.

The exhibition is available to the public from March 2 – June 30, 2018. CCAI will host a reception for the artists on Friday, March 2, 5-7pm in the Sierra Room.

After serving our country, he attended the California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland CA for 2 years and deciding he didn’t have the temperament or discipline required for a successful career in commercial art, William went into Law Enforcement and was a guest cartoonist at the Daily Republic newspaper.
ART from WNC
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Tue, 01/30/2018 - 10:58amThe Capital City Arts Initiative announces its exhibition, "ART from WNC," at the Community Development Building (the Brick) 108 E Proctor Street, Carson City. Eleven student artists from Western Nevada College, Carson City, have work in the exhibit. The free exhibition is available to the public now through April 12, 2018; the building is open Monday - Friday, 8am – noon, 1-4pm.
"ART from WNC" includes a wide variety of art including graphic design, drawing, photography, and watercolor painting that show the diversity of the students’ creativity.

Kenny Arnold Art Show at Brewery Arts Center this Friday and Saturday

Kenny began oil painting classes at the Brewery Arts Center in January 2013, with previous endeavors as a self-taught artist using pencil drawings. Kenny has also creates in watercolor and pastels. Besides creating art paintings based on desire, he also takes on commission art requests.

Work on your own paintings from subject mater you chose for yourself as you take your art to the next level. Create artwork based on realism, abstraction, landscape, portraiture, or whatever style you prefer. Learn artistic technique, such as composition, color, paint application, texture, and expression. The instructor will provide one on one instruction throughout the class. Students may use oil, acrylic, or watercolor paint. Dry media is also welcome.

Carson City artist joins 29 others in 23rd annual Artisan Show and Sale

Admission is free and 20 pieces of original art will be given away.
“Every year we invite some of the best artists in Northern Nevada to exhibit at our show,” says chairperson Julie Sulahria. “It’s always held on the first weekend in November as an opportunity to purchase creative gifts before the holidays.

The independent judges for this art show chose "80 Acres," an oil by Sally Cohen of Reno, as "Best of Show." The NAA show committee chose "The Wranglers," a mixed media painting by Glyness Miller of Carson City, for "The Spirit of Nevada" award.
