More of the same weather wise is headed our way as we round the corner going into Thursday, July 25, 2019. Activities around the Carson City area feature a Muscle Powered hike along a portion of the Tahoe Rim Trail, Status of Women in Northern Nevada conference at the Carson Nugget, a lecture series at the Carson City BRIC, Freedom Fest Carson City GOP Barbecue at Glen Eagles, Thursday Cruise Night at Max Casino, plus afternoon and evening presentations on the Apollo Lunar Mission at the Nevada State Museum. The Prison Hill Recreation Area is located in east Carson City, adjacent to Silver Saddle Ranch. As part of an effort to plan appropriate land uses and trail system connectivity on these 2,500 acres, the City would like the community’s input in developing a Master Plan for this area.

The countdown to the weekend begins as we head into midweek, Wednesday, July 24, 2019 with daytime highs in the low 90s and plenty of indoor and outdoor activities. The heat is on heading into Monday, July 22, 2019. We're looking at another sunny day in the capital city region with daytime highs in the mid to upper 90s. If you're up for for a walk or bike ride to get the oxygen flowing, it might be best to get it done first thing in the morning. Otherwise, there's plenty of ways to stay cool. Looking ahead for the first day of the work week there's a local talk, art classes, line dancing and more.

We’ve finally settled into a spectacular Tahoe summer. Like a shooting star, summer is fleeting, with the Fourth of July already in our review mirror. With all the outdoor recreation that summer affords us here at Lake Tahoe, here’s one more experience worth noting.

As we head into the final stretch of the week, events around the Carson City region are lined up for the next three days, including museum activities, outdoor concerts, a car cruise Friday at Carson Mall, athletic events, a Carson High School class of 1979 reunion, the Taste of Downtown on Saturday and much more.

As we begin to round out the work week heading into Thursday, July 18, 2019, we're looking at the same amount of sun with a daytime high around 90. Not bad for the middle of July. Activities lined up include a Muscle Powered hike, a cultural awareness conference at Carson Valley Inn, an artist reception at Artsy Fartsy, art classes at Rustically Divine, Thursday Cruise Night, the first "Third Thursday" farmer's market and barbecue in Dayton, a presentation on the Apollo Lunar Mission at the Carson City Library and more.

Midweek, here we come! Heading into Wednesday, July 17, 2019 and we're looking at another sunshine-filled day full of activities including Trails 4 Tails at Riverview Park, an open house at Carson City's Foreman-Roberts House Museum, Wheeled Food Wednesday at the Brewery Arts Center with a showing of "Monster's University" to follow and more. Enjoy the day.

As we head into Tuesday, July 16, 2019 we're reminded it's halfway through the month and time sure is flying as we celebrate our summertime favorite stops around the Carson City region. For Tuesday we have walks, hikes and bike rides, a Red Cross "be ready" presentation, Fat Tuesday Business Networking in Dayton, art classes, showings and more. Enjoy.

Heading into Monday, July 15, 2019 the Carson City region is looking at sunny skies, breezy conditions and a slight cooling trend over the next couple days, according to the National Weather Service. In the meantime, it looks to be another fine day in the capital city. Ahead there's a youth mountain bike camp, a presentation by an AARP lobbyist, art showings and more.

Northern Nevada Development Authority on Friday announced its economic development service area has been expanded to include Mineral County. The Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development \has designated NNDA as the regional development authority (RDA) for the county, effective July 1, 2019. Mineral County joins Nevada’s Sierra Region that also includes Carson City, Douglas County, Lyon County and Storey County.

Celebrating its third year, the 2019 Hail the Trail is a fundraiser for trails, rewarding three lucky winners with a brand new mountain bike from Specialized Bikes, Pivot Cycles, and Scott Sports. To date, Hail the Trail has raised more than $70,000, benefiting trail building organizations in the host communities of the Epic Rides Series, including Muscle Powered in Carson City.

With fire danger a threat throughout Nevada, local, state and federal agencies are reminding citizens that igniting, discharging or using fireworks is prohibited on Bureau of Land Management and Forest Service lands and within the city limits.

The Nevada Department of Transportation, Tahoe Transportation District and partners opened the new Tahoe East Shore Trail in Incline Village on Friday, June 28 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Hosted by Epic Rides, a record turnout is expected to fill the streets of downtown Carson City when the fourth annual Carson City Off-Road returns June 28-30.

Heading into Tuesday, June 18, 2019 we're looking at continued warming around the region with a daytime high around 91. Temperatures are expected to actually lower toward the end of the week. Events around town Tuesday include a Muscle Powered walk, hike and bike ride, yoga, exercises for the mind and body hosted by the Carson City Emblem Club, political gatherings, art activities and more.
