A Carson City Fire Department brush engine has been called to assist the East Fork Fire Protection District in Douglas County with a reported brush fire near Genoa Lakes Golf Course off Jacks Valley Road in Genoa.

Interstate 580 at Lakeview reopened following Saturday morning utility work

According to the Carson City Sheriff's Office, Carson City Dispatch and the Nevada Highway Patrol Northern Command, Interstate 580 at Lakeview Hill has now reopened to traffic through Washoe Valley from Carson City after a morning closure to make utility repairs of power lines near the highway Saturday morning.

One dead after vehicle versus pedestrian accident at U.S. Highway 50 East and Airport Road

UPDATE: 12:45PM: The pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle Saturday morning at U.S. Highway 50 East and Airport Road has died, the Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP) Northern Command reported on Twitter.
No other details about the crash are available at this time as NHP continues its investigation of the incident.

CARSON CITY — Saturday, Nov. 3 was the State Cross Country Meet in Boulder City, Nevada at Veteran's Memorial Park. Sierra Lutheran had a successful day. The 1A/2A girls race was the first race of the day.
