Movie Review: 'Take Me Home Tonight' a romantic comedy with lots of loud music
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Sun, 03/13/2011 - 8:26pmTake My Home Tonight" is supposed to be, I think, a blast from the past about 1988. It's playing at the Casino Fandango Galaxy multiplex in Carson City where the sound system is up to the wild and rocking music, luckily, since the music is the best thing in the film, even to non-rock fans like me.

Nugget Project: The Parking String
Submitted by Kirk Caraway on Fri, 02/18/2011 - 2:56pmhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-uLECuGK07U
Several people at yesterday's Board of Supervisors meeting mentioned the generosity of Mae Adams for donating land to Carson City for the proposed Knowledge and Discovery Center and public plaza, the centerpiece of the City Center/Nugget Project.
I've heard some critics complain about this donation, which does little to bolster their case. Despite the unorthodox lease deal, it really is a donation we should be thankful to have the option of using for a new library.
But this donation does come with one very large and expensive string attached.

Several Tahoe ski resorts to open this weekend
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Thu, 11/18/2010 - 11:47pmA handful of Lake Tahoe ski resorts prepare to open for the season this weekend thanks to an early snowfall, snowmaking guns and a fairly large storm set to punch the Sierra.
Around a foot or more of natural snow across the Sierra earlier this month certainly helped get things moving. With this weekend's anticipated storm, which may bring anywhere from 2-4 feet of snow to the Sierra, resorts should get a nice healthy boost just in time for the holiday season.
Here's what we know:
