Hello Carson City and welcome to Sunday, June 23, 2019. Temperatures will warm back up again and stay that way until midweek when another cool weather pattern is expected to arrive. Heading into today, there's the 2019 Great Race at Lampe Park in Gardnerville, an open house at the Foreman-Roberts House Museum in Carson City and the Brewery Arts Center will be packed once again Sunday for the Summer Showcase Band Concert from 5 to 7 p.m.

Heading into the weekend, there's a bevy of events around the Carson City region that brings a cool breeze to the first three days of summer. The 16th Motor Officer Challenge kicks off Friday at 7 a.m. at Mills Park. Lace up the shoes for a Friday morning walk at East Silver Saddle Ranch hosted by Muscle Powered.

Heading into Tuesday, June 18, 2019 we're looking at continued warming around the region with a daytime high around 91. Temperatures are expected to actually lower toward the end of the week. Events around town Tuesday include a Muscle Powered walk, hike and bike ride, yoga, exercises for the mind and body hosted by the Carson City Emblem Club, political gatherings, art activities and more.

Heading into Father’s Day weekend, there's plenty of jam-packed activities around the Carson City region. There's Flag Day ceremonies at the Nevada Veterans Memorial and at the Elks Lodge. The Stewart Father’s Day Powwow happens Friday to Sunday and features hundreds of American Indian dancers, drummers artists and cultural enthusiasts. Lace up the tennis shoes for the Eastside Historical tour of the capital city hosted by Muscle Powered. Journey of Hope returns to Western Nevada College at 5 p.m. to settle into the evening. Open Mic Night at A to Zen will cap-off an eventful Friday heading into the weekend.

Thursday Morning Hike on June 20, 8am – Ash to Kings Canyon. Meet at the end of the asphalt on Ash Canyon Road to carpool to the trailhead.

Activities lined up include workshops, an anniversary party and showing at Artsy Fartsy art gallery, Food Truck Thursday at Mills Park, a Kiwanis Club meeting and Chamber annual meeting at The Martin Hotel, Cruise Night at Bully's Sports Bar, live music outdoors at Living the Good Life and more. June 13, 8 am – TRT south of Highway 50. Meet in the Highway 50 Park n Ride where we will carpool up to the Spooner Summit trailhead. Water and closed-toed shoes required. Hat and poles recommended.

Tuesday Evening Ladies MTB Ride
June 11, 5:30 pm- Meetup at Foothill Dr just off of N Winnie Ln.

Every Tuesday evening from 5:30-700 pm. Rides are open to all skill levels. This is a "no drop" ride so no one is left behind. All riders must carry water and have a mountain bike in safe working condition, helmet, closed toed shoes, spare tube, pump and tools to change a flat tire. Tuesday Evening Hike
June 11, 5:30 pm – Kings Canyon Trail/Lincoln Highway. Meet at the west end of Kings Canyon Road by the trailhead, CC. We will hike to Horse Creek Ranch meadow and back. Water and closed-toed shoes required. Hat and poles recommended.
