We just shrug our shoulders, "that's politics; politicians lie." We chortle at the more outrageous excesses. The bigger the whopper, the more we are entertained. But alas, they keep doing it because it works.

Carson City, Secretary of State websites to report up-to-the-minute primary election results

Nevada’s only official primary election results reporting website, www.SilverStateElection.com, launched Friday in preparation for Tuesday's 2014 primary election. The comprehensive reporting website allows the public to easily monitor the official results as reported by election officials statewide throughout the evening of the election.

For the local Carson City election, results can be found on the Carson City Election Office website here and on CarsonNow.org. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Carson City Community Center, 851 East William Street. Election results will begin to filter in after 7 p.m. first with the results from early voting.

This in reply to Mr. James O. Hartman’s letter to the editor in the May 21st issue of the RC. Mr. Hartman, I will address you in the first person in this reply. Facts are stubborn things.

Let me be clear that I draw a parallel to your reporting in the RC opinion page with what in the 30’s was called yellow journalism. Use of the journalism in the same sentence with your name does a disservice to journalists everywhere even those in the mainstream.
