Carson City Polar Express 2020 aboard V&T train canceled, replaced with Drive-Thru Village

In its place, V&T Railway will host Santa’s Drive-Thru Village, a socially distanced holiday event, Dec. 11-13 and Dec. 18-24.
Greater Nevada Credit Union contributes $30,000 to Fire Disaster Relief

Rogue Credit Union Foundation in Medford, Ore.; Redwood Credit Union Community Fund in Santa Rosa, Calif.; and Sierra Central Credit Union in Yuba City, Calif. will each receive $10,000 to assist with ongoing relief efforts.

Carson City deputies make warrant arrest after report of man throwing orange cones across Carson Street

According to the report, Bryant Bennett Jayne was arrested after deputies were dispatched to a local motel on a report of a man throwing orange road cones across South Carson Street and yelling at the reporting party.

Carson City Pooch brings home gold from famous Westminster Dog Show

This isn't Ryker's first big win at Westminster though, as he is a return champion.

He will be inside the gift shop until 6:30 p.m. The V&T Railway is located at 4650 Eastgate Siding Road. Go here for directions and a map. Santa was there to take pictures with the children and pass out stockings with toys and candy inside of them. Mrs. Claus passed out candy canes.

Submitted by Kelsey Penrose on Fri, 12/20/2019 - 3:57pmLast Saturday I was part of the Rotary Club's Shopping Spree. This annual event pairs a Rotarian with a needy child in hopes of purchasing gifts for the child and members of his/her family.
The young man that I accompanied was a rather precocious and talkative eight-year old who was a bit jaded when it came to acknowledging the magic of Christmas. However, during the shopping part of the activity, my new young friend became very animated and hopeful as he talked about selecting gifts for his family and for himself.
