Carson City's Empire Elementary hosts second STEM Parent Night

More than 250 participants gathered last night to experience fun hands-on experiments and student-showcased STEM projects, which were taught throughout the last quarter of activities and learning.
Carson Tahoe Health, Rotary of Carson City celebrate Labyrinth anniversary and partnership
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Wed, 11/06/2019 - 8:57amWednesday marks 13 years since the opening of the outdoor Labyrinth located at the Carson Tahoe Cancer Center. The unique space was made possible through a generous donation from the Rotary Club of Carson City.
In 2006, under the leadership of past president Rafael Cappucci, the Rotary Club contributed $75,000 to build the Labyrinth, and gave another $200,000 in support of the Cancer Center project over a four-year period.
Carson City's Empire Elementary awarded $5K Rotary grant for STEM Parent Nights

Nearly a dozen applications from teachers and teams of teachers were received for this competitive STEM grant.

Carson City Rotary donates five bus shelters for Jump Around Carson (JAC)

A tradition that began decades ago at CHS has seniors jumping out of bed still wearing their pajamas, grabbing their blankets, and heading off to the CHS football field to arrive by 6 a.m.
