UPDATE SUNDAY, 9:10AM: A man who was stabbed Saturday evening and sustained a moderate to serious knife wound was flown to the trauma ward at a Reno hospital. His condition is unknown at this time. He is expected to live. It is unknown at this time if he remains in the hospital. No arrests have been made and no charges have been filed, said Carson City Sheriff's Office Sgt. Nate Brehm. The matter remains under investigation.

CARSON CITY — A Nevada Army Guard CH-47 Chinook helicopter crew will fly to Texas Wednesday to assist emergency responders in the wake of Hurricane Harvey. The Chinook helicopter crew is set to assist the Texas National Guard with search and rescue missions in the Houston, Texas, vicinity.

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were called Tuesday afternoon to a rollover accident in the southbound lane of North Carson Street near Nye Lane.

UPDATE TUESDAY 12:42PM: The Preacher Fire has burned 7,651 acres, according to the Incident Management Team that flew over the fire Tuesday morning to assess the situation.
Douglas County Sheriff Office and Nevada Highway Patrol are working with Nevada Department of Transportation to update the reader boards along Highway 395 from China Springs to Minden warning drivers of low visibility due to smoke.

The Preacher Fire burning in the Pine Nut Mountains has swelled to more than 1,000 acres, according to Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch Center. Douglas County has initiated recommended evacauations of areas at the east end of Pine Nut Road including Fred’s Street, Sandoval, Taildragger, Bluebird, and Bar-J Roads as well as the Spirit Ranch Area including Blue Sage Road, Badger Lane, Robinson Road, and Lena Lane. In addition, the Washoe Tribal Police are evacuating the Bodie Flats area in the vicinity of Courtland Avenue.

Dogs and their humans occupied the Cafe at Adele's veranda Saturday, part of a day-long fundraiser for Dog Town Canine Rescue in downtown Carson City.

UPDATE 11:20AM From Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong: Juvenile Sean Ascuaga of Reno was located at Marlette Dam. He was found safe and unharmed, but will be checked by paramedics before transporting back to Carson City to family members.

Search teams from Carson City and Washoe County are looking for a missing 17-year-old male who has been reported missing and was last seen in the Chimney Beach area of Lake Tahoe on Monday afternoon.

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were called to a vehicle crash Sunday afternoon in the northbound lane of Carson Street south of Fairview.

UPDATE: 8:24PM: Dispatch has reported that Douglas County rescue crews have located the victim of the motorcycle accident near Sunrise Pass Road in Northeastern Douglas County and are currently on scene. Carson City responders have been recalled.

Emergency personnel from Carson City are responding to a report of a motorcycle accident near Sunrise Pass Road around the Carson City and Douglas County line, 9-1-1 dispatch has reported.

Kitten Adoption Day is Saturday, July 22 from noon to 4 p.m. at Michael Hohl Honda in Carson City. Catmandu is partnering with Honda to help disadvantaged cats and kittens find their FURever homes.

Hazy conditions around Carson City and the region is due to the smoke from several fires in Nevada and California that continue to burn Sunday with thousands of firefighting personnel battling the blazes.

All proceeds from food, drink, and raffle tickets sales directly benefit local cancer patients undergoing lifesaving medical treatments, providing support for basic needs that go beyond the hospital walls.

Emergency dispatch is reporting a two-vehicle rear-end accident that occurred a little before 2 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of U.S. Highway 395 and Old Clear Creek Road in South Carson City.

Carson City emergency units responded to a single vehicle rollover accident reported at around 6 a.m. Saturday along on Old U.S. Highway 395 adjacent to the Interstate 580 freeway and about a half mile north of the county line.

Carson City Fire Department and rescue were called Saturday afternoon to a single vehicle motorcycle crash in the area of Clearview and South Carson Street.

Residents near the West Walker River in Smith Valley may have to evacuate given the rising water, officials said early Wednesday evening.

Each summer since 2003, the historic Comstock community of Silver City has offered free, public programming in science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM). Last week the annual program kicked off with a blues concert in the park, and this Tuesday, June 13 the program continues with science activities led by Jim Barcellos of University of Nevada Reno Cooperative Extension (UNCE).

UPDATE 955PM: From Douglas County: The Topaz Fire is in mop up status at the present time. The fire burned 8 acres within the Topaz Subdivision just south of the Topaz Lodge in Southern Douglas County.
Highway 395 was closed during initial fire attack operations. The highway is now open but motorist are urged to proceed with caution through the area. One out building was damaged in the fire and no structures were lost. Approximately 30 to 40 homes were threatened at one time. Volunteer evacuations are still in place.

UPDATE 12:23PM: Eastbound Lompa Lane has been reopened. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were called late Sunday morning to a crash involving a motorcycle rider in the area of Lompa Lane and Dori Way.

A fight involving multiple inmates broke out inside the Warm Springs Correctional Facility off Fifth Street in Carson City around 1 p.m. Saturday, prompting prison officials to call Carson City Fire and Rescue.

First responders were dispatched to a gravel pit at the end of Goni Road in North Carson City on report of a paraglider who crashed to the ground, sustaining unknown injuries after falling 50 feet into the pit.

UPDATE 3:32PM: The fire at Brunswick Canyon is now contained, said Carson City Fire Chief Sean Slamon. Firefighters were able to get it to containment at around 2:45 pm with anywhere between four to five acres burned.

Update 2:40 p.m.: The male subject has been safely plucked from the river.
