Carson City Republican Party hosts Monthly Membership Meeting

The Carson City Republican Party will hold its regular monthly meeting on Thursday, Nov 14, 7 p.m. at the Carson Nugget. Noreen Leary from the Veterans Guest House in Reno will be the guest speaker. Come early at 6:30 p.m. for our social time before the meeting. Remember we meet in the Comedy Club, 1st Floor, 507 N Carson St. Please note we are meeting a week early due to the Thanksgiving Holiday.

Carson City Republican Women's Club November meeting

The November meeting of the Carson City Republican Women's Club will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 20 at the Carson Nugget. Guest speaker Jason Woodbury will speak on the subject of the Constitution and grand juries.

At this meeting we will also honor all military veterans accompanied by a Carson City Republican Woman member with a lunch paid for by the Club. Social time is 11 a.m. and the meeting is called to order at 11:30 a.m.

Carson City Fire Department: Brush fire at Duck Hill knocked down, started by Raven helicopter hitting power line

UPDATE: 5:15PM: The brush fire off Duck Hill Road was last reported at five acres, according to KRNV News 4 in Reno, before fire crews knocked down the flames and prevented the blaze from reaching any structures. Firefighters are now in mop-up stage.

Mourning the Loss of Dennis Hof (Opinion)

When news of the sudden death of Assembly candidate and brothel owner Dennis Hof reached us last Tuesday, we were quite stunned by it. We had gotten to know Dennis, and James had seen him several times in the weeks preceding his sudden departure.

One of his great gifts was the ability to make you feel you were the most important person in the room. Two occasions involving James come to mind, but Ron felt the same way.
