Lawmakers Could Create Nevada Office of Outdoor Recreation
Submitted by editor on Wed, 04/03/2019 - 11:50amCARSON CITY – Nevada soon could become the 13th state to establish a state Division of Outdoor Recreation, the subject of a public hearing Thursday in the state Assembly’s Government Affairs Committee. The office would promote tourism, but also advocate for protection of Nevada’s public lands.

Lake Tahoe man sentenced to prison for destruction of ancient archaeological sites

Mendez to one year and one day in prison and ordered to pay $113,000 in restitution for two counts of excavation and removal of archaeological resources from public lands and one misdemeanor count of unlawful possession of methamphetamine, U.S. Attorney McGregor W. Scott announced.

The event includes three parts – a screening of a new documentary that covers the history of the American Flat mill from its inception in the 1920s to its demolition in 2014; a short lecture about the unique qualities of the mill by consulting architectural historian and industrial archaeologist Ron Reno, PhD; and a pop-up show with locals’ rare photos of the site.

East Silver Saddle Ranch Cottonwood Wrapping

Our amazing staff will be providing a lesson on river ecology and talk about the importance of cottonwood wrapping.
We will be providing gloves and all the materials and information necessary to correctly wrap cottonwoods.
