Celebrating more than a quarter century of turning the round, orange members of the squash family into memorable Halloween carving traditions, Seeliger Elementary School in Carson City will host its 26th annual Pumpkin Patch this Saturday, Oct. 13.

The Carson City community is invited to experience the new look of Vitalant, formerly United Blood Services, during a special open house event this month at the Carson City donation center.

Carson Valley Medical Center has moved its annual community health fair to the middle of autumn, with this year’s event scheduled to take place Oct. 20 from 9 a.m. to noon on its main campus, 1107 Highway 395 N in Gardnerville.

Free flu vaccinations will be offered during this year’s fair, along with a variety of free health screenings including glucose testing, peripheral artery disease screenings (Ankle-Brachial Index), blood pressure checks, Body Mass Index readings and more.

The Carson High School wrestling program opened its second annual Oktoberfest team fundraiser in downtown Carson City Saturday evening on Bob McFadden Plaza.

The second annual Friends of Coach Blaver Memorial Alzheimer's Fundraiser will be this Saturday, Sept. 15, 2018, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Westside Pour House, 110 Telegraph Street in Carson City.

CARSON CITY — The Nevada Guard is set to host a memorial run and walk this Thursday, Sept. 6, to commemorate the victims of the International House of Pancakes shooting that occurred in 2011.
