Carson City Symphony releases Project Euterpe Episode 3 with Russian String Quartet

In Episode 3 of Carson City Symphony’s Project Euterpe, Conductor David Bugli introduces the Rimsky-Korsakov String Quartet from St. Petersburg, Russia, playing "Nocturne" from Alexander Borodin's String Quartet No. 2.

This recital was performed in a Carson City home on March 15, 2019, and features Mikhail Bondarev and Ekaterina Belisova, violin; Alexi Popov, viola; and Anton Andreev, cello.

South Carson Street Project report for week of June 1-5; roundabout install begins

SNC crews are preparing the roundabout installment phase of the South Carson Street project. Stewart Street in Carson City will be closed to southbound traffic with detours at Little to Roop to Fairview, the closure will remain all week. Stewart Street will be open to northbound traffic only.

Nevada State Public Health Lab to start limited antibody testing in coming weeks

The Nevada State Public Health Lab is currently conducting COVID-19 testing by way of real-time polymerase chain reaction, which is a form of testing that detects the virus itself. In the coming weeks, the NSPHL will begin a new form of testing, which includes detection of antibodies to the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Such a test may be able to determine whether a person has been infected with the virus, in the past.

Mile High Band and vocalist Jakki Ford have cancelled their performance originally scheduled for April 14 at Living the Good Life Bistro, which is closed except for takeout and delivery following the COVID-19 directives. Their next performance there, planned for May 12, may also be postponed or cancelled.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers began assessments earlier this month in Las Vegas, Reno and Carson City for potential hospital space expansion in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Error in Carson City COVID-19 test performance leaves local resident in limbo

After spending over a week in horrible pain, a local quad-county resident was finally able to secure a COVID-19 test. However, the situation became all that more complicated when the test was administered incorrectly by Carson City Health and Human Services (CCHHS).

CCHHS admitted to the error, and has rescheduled a second test to be performed today.
