This year, the theme acknowledges the 50th anniversary of the National Historic Preservation Act, which helps to stabilize neighborhoods and downtowns, contributes to public education, attracts investment, creates jobs, generates tax revenues, supports small business and affordable housing, and powers Nevada’s heritage tourism industry.

Food consists of sap, nectar, pollen, seeds, nuts, berries or fruits. Shrubs should be dense enough to support nests, but also allow birds to move about to escape predators.

Nevada wildlife officials makes difficult decision in effort to save remaining healthy bighorns

The decision was made to depopulate a herd of California bighorn sheep due to an ongoing and aggressive outbreak of polymicrobial pneumonia that has caused an all age die-off in a once healthy herd in the Montana Mountains of Humboldt County.

It's been a great run, full of great memories, but sooner or later all good things must come to an end, and Oct. 31 is that special time for the two of us.

SLHS Students Are College Ready and College Bound

By their own admission, this requirement comes as the Nevada Department of Education tries to discern the level of college readiness that public high schools are providing. This year alone, Nevada colleges reported that nearly one-third of their students needed to enroll in remedial courses.
Forecast: Lake Tahoe may not benefit from strong El Niño

The National Weather Service's Climate Prediction Center released their latest seasonal weather assessment on Thursday, and the news isn't very good for the Lake Tahoe Basin.
