Signups begin for free youth Carson City baseball league
There’s a new and free recreational youth baseball league beginning this spring and summer for boys and girls in Carson City. The Junior Giants, the flagship program of the San Francisco Giants Community Fund, serves more than 25,000 boys and girls in 88 underserved communities throughout northern and central California, Nevada and southern Oregon.
This is a free and non-competitive baseball program that has served as a model for MLB youth initiatives. The league in Carson City is a new program looking to recruit players, volunteer coaches, and volunteer parents to help with the games. The league commissioner is Scott Chapman, Recreation Program Supervisor, for Carson City Parks and Recreation.
